Phaël M’Boutchou is a Montréal-based portrait and fashion photographer with a particular affinity for black and white. His work studies presence, character, and the quiet power held inside a face.
His practice is grounded in conversation and attention. Before the lighting, styling, or pose, there is a person to understand. That exchange gives each image its tension and its ease.

“A portrait should hold more than a likeness. It should hold a presence.”
